Our Story
In 1973, John Wells began his career in the railroad yards, specializing in tasks such as cleaning up train derailments, cutting up railroad cars, dismantling steel mills and demolishing railroad bridges. Over the years, he expanded his expertise to include dismantling coal preparation plants and cutting up thousands of railroad cars. Despite being based in Gainesville, Florida, John’s children spent every summer traveling across various states, absorbing the spirit of the work as they were too young to assist directly.
In the early 2000s, John shifted his focus towards establishing a local business in Jacksonville, Florida, leading to the founding of John C. Wells Demolition Services LLC.
Since 2004, John, along with his children—Jack, Charles, and Maghen—have been actively operating and growing the business. For the following 15 years, they successfully managed a variety of residential and commercial demolition projects.
In 2013, the company began concentrating on the demolition aspects of Navy ships, quickly transitioning to handle various repairs as well.
Fast forward to 2024, JC WELLS has established a significant presence in both the marine and demolition sectors.

JC WELLS Demolition division aims to recycle the debris generated from our tear-down projects to save customers money and reduce unnecessary landfill use. We specialize in demolishing houses, buildings, old swimming pools and driveways. We have the expertise to perform the work on time and on budget.
